| | ok- i know it has been an extremely long time since i have posted but i wanted to give everyone a heads up (considering anyone still actually reads this blog!) what has been happening in my and aaron's life. We are getting married on home plate at the staten island yankee stadium in 5 months tomorrow. The reception will be a small dinner with dancing and traditional wedding flavor in the suites overlooking lower manhattan. we are really blessed to have this venue as its a great location and so beautiful. as well, it holds such a special place in our hearts because we met here. I love my gown in its simplicity and my bridesmaids will be gorgeous. I cant wait for the extended families to finally meet!
Aaron has been doing well. Every spring he seems to get a golden tan by mid april that enhances those piercing eyes. He also seems to have shead his winter pounds and is looking pretty trim. While he is excited for the spring and our wedding as well as all the projects we have planned for the house, he was dealt a disappointing blow last week. His company, Brickman, has decided to move him from the yankees and on to Newark to work in the atlantic league for the Newark Bears. This has been hard on him as the work he has done with the yankees for the past two seasons has been selfless and performed with total dedication. he seemed to cherish every blade of grass. the transfer has come as a huge surprise to both of us and will make the upcoming wedding bitter sweet. On the other hand, aaron is excited to roll up his sleeves and turn around the field in Newark. Apparently, its in terrible shape. If there is anyone who can do it, my aaron can. I will really miss him this summer and games wont seem the same with out him here. I have decided to stay on as mascot for the yankees. I made a commitment and cant back out now. However, considering that aaron's ties have been cut with the organization, i am certain that this will be my last year. I vow to make it an amazing one.
As far as i am concerned, I am happy to report that i have left the world of private equity and midtown manhattan!! After two interviews, i somehow managed to land a position managing a firm on Wall Street called Capmark Finance. It has been really challenging but has served as the change i feel i needed in my life. I miss all the folks at american capital but Capmark is really the place for me. my duties have far exceeded what i ever thought i could do in the financial services field. the best part of this job aside from the pay raise is my commute has been cut in half! Also, i am working way less hours. I really feel like i have some sort of life again.
I laugh as i read my last post with all my lofty running goals. Planning a wedding, a new job, the house and aaron's recent change quickly dissolved my disposition. I have one goal which i KNOW is attainable. the new york city half marathon in mid august. of the 14 halves i have run, ive pulled most of them out of my butt. Considering my lack of training this year, i know it will be the hardest race i have ever done. but i HAVE to do it. I feel like i need an anchor. Im going to try to run the triple crown here in staten island as well.
Tonight aaron and i and some friends from capmark are going to see Joel Olsteen at the New Yankee stadium in the bronx. I am sooo excited.
well thanks for reading and i hope to see you all in september!!!
